Pumpkin Patch

It's been forever since I've posted anything. We've been busy enjoying fall and working on our basement. Clark tore down a few walls, tore up the ceiling, and added some floor joists. Next step is sheetrock, and texture, then paint, a wood floor, and finally a built in bookcase, and scrapbooking nook for me. We want to be done by Christmas (I'm hoping for a lot sooner than that!)

SO, back to the enjoying fall part. We went with Ben's preschool to a pumpkin patch. It was fun but way too crowded with little people. Here are our pictures.

We'll have more pictures of pumpkin carving and Trick-or-Treating later.

Ben the Jedi

Last Friday, Ben attended his friend's 5-year-old birthday party.
It had a Star Wars theme, and all the guest were invited to bring their light sabers. He had a great time. The boys used The Force to open the garage door, and after several attempts, they successfully managed to lift it (thanks to the garage door opener in his Dad's pocket.) When the door opened, ominous music began to play and out stepped Darth Vader!
The young Jedis whipped out their light sabers and soon had Darth cornered in the garage, here he surrendered with a photo op.
Ben came home yesterday with this photo. "Dad, can you put this up on the computer for my cousins to see?" he asked. How could I refuse? With a little bit of help from a Google image search, photoshop, and iTunes, it's even better. (click here for the full effect.)

New Temples

Well, it appears that rumors of a temple being built in Jackson County, Mo. in the near future have been greatly exaggerated. The Church announced today that the temple will be built in Clay County, near the site of the Liberty Jail. (Official press release here http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/new-temple-site-locations-announced).

4 Generations!

My Dad and Grandpa came to visit us for a day as part of their road trip. It was great to see them both. While they were here we took a 4 generation picture. What a special day.

Family Matters

We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful family! On Sunday Clark blessed Hannah and all of our family came to participate and/or support us. Thank you all so much for driving so far to be with us on Hannah's special day!
